We, NIHON KESSHO KOGAKU CO., LTD. are proud of our contribution to a prosperous, safe, and secure life of people around the world with our motto of “NIHON KESSHO KOGAKU CO., LTD. a company with brilliant achievement in the world.” We offer products of higher value using our long-accumulated single crystal growth technology combined with design, processing, and assembly technologies.

Calcium fluoride (CaF2) is indispensable as a constituent material used for semiconductor lithography equipment, laser equipment, and semiconductor inspection equipment. It is very difficult to produce (grow) high-purity and large single crystal calcium fluoride, and only limited companies in the world can supply it. It is certain that semiconductors will become finer pitch in future and that the number of apparatuses requiring calcium fluoride will increase. Our goal is to understand our customers’ needs and meet their customers’ requirements. We continually strive to improve the quality and upgrade production capacity for a stable supply of our products.

Non-destructive inspection is conducted at airports, ports and harbors, borders, everywhere in the world for security reasons. Do you know our cadmium tungstate (CWO) scintillator and detector are incorporated in X-ray inspection equipment for checked baggage used at airports throughout the world? Our CWO products are used also in other X-ray inspection equipment for air cargo, containers, cars, and trains. CWO is an optimum crystal material to project the inside clearly. However, it is very difficult to grow CWO crystals, and we are the only company in the world that can stably supply the crystal in large quantities. We are striving responsibly and with pride to stably supply high-quality products in order to ensure the safe and secure life of people.

Corporate Development

July 1973
NIHON KESSHO KOGAKU CO., LTD. was founded. The head office and production facility was established at Hinata, Tatebayashi with capital of three million yen.
April 1976
The head office was moved to a new building constructed in Kondocho, Tatebayashi and capital was increased to five million yen.
December 1985
Capital was increased to eighty-eight million yen.
April 1987
DEX Co., Ltd was established with capital of twenty million yen (60% by our company, 40% by MITSUI MINING & SMELTING CO., LTD.) for the development of our products to downstream businesses.
March 1989
MITSUI MINING & SMELTING CO., LTD. became our 100% owner.
April 1991
The head office was moved to a new building constructed in Nobecho, Tatebayashi.
March 1993
The company merged with DEX Co., Ltd.
December 1995
The company obtained ISO9002 (ISO9001) certification.
April 2000
NK&K (U.S.A.) was established.
April 2002
The Ageo production facility was newly constructed.
April 2006
The company obtained ISO14001 certification.
April 2007
The company obtained OHSAS 18001 certification.
December 2007
The Ageo production facility was expanded.
April 2019
The company obtained ISO45001 certification (a change from OHSAS18001).
April 2019
The production facilities were reorganized (the Ageo facility for dedicated production of CaF2 and the main facility for dedicated production of scintillators).
June 2022
The DEX production facility was integrated into the main facility.
August 2023
NK&K USA, Inc. was relocated in San Jose.
July 2024
Marunouchi Capital Inc. became our 100% owner.
